Another, actually better name for Belly Dancing is Raqs Sharki (Oriental dance). When you hear the word Belly Dancing, you may think only of the movement of the belly, but it is so much more than that.
In this dance, isolation is the key word. Complete control of your entire body and especially the pelvic area. This dance is a feminine affair, where you primarily express yourself to the music, following the rhythms with rocking and rolling movements of your body. In the classes you will learn a combination of the Egyptian style and the American style. The techniques of this dance you can also apply well to Salsa, Zouk and Axé.
Karen, Marloes and Eva from Zahabiya teach the bellydance classes.
